Grace and Peace Presbyterian Church

Before Amy left for her trip home we attended this church (Grace and Peace) twice - we were blessed both times. I have been attending there since - and anticipate that when she returns we will continue attending. The services are very God honoring - and the messages have been quite encouraging. As you can see... it's a very old and beautiful building... there are many things needing to be fixed and upgraded (I didn't include pictures of those) but its a work in progress. I believe the church bought it awhile ago and has been raising money to restore it over time. The church is located on the outskirts of St. Louis in a area that has much need. The church has a very active outreach to the city.

Anniversary in Winthrop

Well... I'll do a bit of backtracking here to get you up to speed. This is before we even knew that we were coming to Seminary. Amy and I went to Winthrop for our 3rd anniversary... and we found some sweet sledding hills. The challenge was that we had to hike up the hills in waist deep snow.... whew!!!

And what is a anniversary experience without a bit of competition.... especially an Allen/Troja anniversary!! Amy may try to disagree... but I won this one (by letting her win)... (-:

Well, here it is... a picture of our "Crib". Actually, Amy and I are living on the second floor. This is the front entrance off Tulane street. Inside the main door, there is a stairwell with three landings... we had lots of fun to get Amy's piano up there!

The side entrance to the left of the house (you can't see it) goes all the way up... and then also all the way down into our basement. We'll post some really exciting pictures of the flood we had down there a couple of weeks ago!

This picture was actually taken prior to our arrival. Amy took those two ceramic goats out to the street and smashed them. They had it coming... they were ugly.

More to come...
