Winston
Well we've finally started to approach normalcy since adopting Winston. We got him Saturday Feb 28th. He was in pretty good shape with the exception of kennel cough and "smarting" from some "man work". His first weekend with us was HORRIBLE. On Sunday he came down with pneumonia and was throwing up and hacking up white foam. By mid day Sunday he was lethargic, not eating and sooo tired. He wouldn't lay down because it compressed his lungs making it hard to breath... and he didn't like to sit down because "the boys" were very swollen. Essentially he would fall asleep standing up and then fall over - It was quite sorrowful looking. By Sunday afternoon were were convinced that he might not make it through the night... so we made a trip to the emergency hospital...KA CHING $200.00. They gave him fluids and a bunch of antibiotics which helped him almost immediately. He is much better now and is looking forward being able to socialize with other dogs next week. (he has been quarantined).

As you can see, he is full of energy and is getting stronger...

Remembering December 2008
These pictures were taken in the afternoon on December 21, 2008, to prove it really does snow in Tacoma. They make me think of quiet family evenings reading Farmer Boy, shoving for the best spot over the dining room heater vent, endless intertube rides behind "Old Nellie", violent games of Spoons, early morning "wisdom searches", bottle rockets, snow forts, snowball fights, & a great family...

It's Beginning to Look Like a HOME!
Today is a monumental day... our last meal on "the card table". For five months now we've been dining on a card table. Well not any more. We found a beautiful dining set on Craigslist and Andrew picked it up today. Thankfully, our home will never be the same. Here are the pictures to prove it:
